The chicken wing.
A simple and delicious snack (if you have a few), lunch (if you have a few more), and dinner (a whole plateful).
Chicken wings have long been a staple of Southern cooking but the actual concept of smothering chicken wings with hot sauce occurred in Buffalo in 1964.
The co-owner of the restaurant Anchor Bar, Teressa Bellissimo, cooked leftover chicken wings and hot sauce as a late-night snack for her son and his friends.
It’s been a chicken wing bonanza of different cooking methods and flavours ever since!
