Hint: Place the fat side up not down when roasting.
Remember: Technique is one of the most important aspects to cooking a great brisket. Go slow. Lower temperature, slower cooking. This will allow the connective tissue to break down and the fat to melt slowly, leaving you with that ultimate melt in your mouth brisket.
Cooking
- Rub your favourite ZEG Sauces onto the brisket getting the sauce into every exposed area.
- Preferably, let the brisket marinate covered in the refrigerator for 24 hours. If you don’t have time then just marinate for 1-2 hours in refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 350-degrees and place the brisket in a tightly sealed roasting pan into the oven.
- After 2 hours, baste the brisket with another layer of your favourite ZEG Sauces and return to the oven to finish cooking.
- Cook for 3-4 hours in total. It is done when it pulls apart with two forks.
- Serve hot with your favourite side dish for a brisket meal that will burst with mouth watering flavour! Enjoy!
