When Dolly Parton said the famous words “I’m on a seafood diet. I see food, I eat it” she was speaking tongue-in-cheek that we should really just love food and not to worry about diets.
I couldn’t agree more.
The stress alone from dieting most likely counters any temporary gains.
But we do know that having a nutritional regime that is rich in “seafood” has enormous health benefits, nutritional value, and fantastic flavour!
Here are a few seafood tips to add to your culinary toolbox:
Fish should always be cooked at a low to medium temperature this will ensure that the fish will retain its moisture. Never cook fish at a temperature more than 350° as you will not only dry out the fish but also lose a ton of flavour!
The best way to thaw fish is by using milk it will give the fish a great colour and flavour especially if you use buttermilk.
If you’re having trouble getting oysters out of the shell try using club soda and let the oysters soak in it for a few minutes, it can help with the opening of the shell.
Now it is time to “see food” and eat it.
