Whether it is pork or beef, shredding a roast can be challenging but well worth it.

Shredded meat (if done properly) will be juicy, full of flavour and mouth watering just on its own!  🤤😋🤤😋🤤

The first key to perfectly shredded meat is to cook it slow and low which will allow the connective tissue to melt away.

The second key to perfectly shredded meat is to know how to shred.

Once you have finished cooking your roast at 300°F to 325°F and have reached an internal temperature of at least 145°F, it’s time to get shredding.

Shredding is best done when the roast is still hot as the fibers of the meat can be easily separated.

Here are 4 methods you can use to shred your meat:

Two Forks Method: this is old school, use two forks face down while pulling the meat apart is a great method but can be slow.

Bear Claws Style: these Wolverine like meat claws are perfect for shredding meat easily and quickly!

Masher Method: although unorthodox, you can use your potato masher to shred up that cooked soft meat. It might not be as pretty as the other methods but it does work.

Mixer Style: probably the fastest and easiest way to shred meat is to use your kitchen mixer. Just simply place the cooked meat into your mixing bowl, attach your flat beater paddle, lock lever, and turn to medium speed for approximately 30 seconds or until meat has shredded.

Now that you can shred with the best of them, it’s time to test your skills!
