A chicken lollipop is an hors d’oeuvre popular in Indian-Chinese cuisine.
The chicken lollipop is a type of chicken preparation where meat from a chicken drum / drumstick segment is pushed all the way through one end of the bone to form a spherical shape resembling a lollipop.
From there it can be breaded, marinated, deep fried or prepared in any way you want!
Once cooked, the bone end acts as a handle and is wrapped with aluminium foil.
Adults and kids love these these lollipop chicken gems because they are easy to eat and there is no fussing with the tendon while eating.
Simply just take your drum / drumstick and make a circular cut around the tendon about an inch from the end of the bone.
Then push the meat up so it is resembling a circle or lollipop and cook them until an internal temperature of 180°F has been reached.
Lococo’s still has their great sale on Chicken Leg Quarters for $1.77/lb. until August 5th.
You can also marinate and/or coat these chicken lollipops in your favourite ZEG Sauces.
It is recommended that you marinate for at least 4 hours and/or coat the chicken lollipops at the end once they have finished cooking.
This is one hors d’oeuvre that everyone will love so much they will be singing praises of the sensational flavour!
Enjoy!
